How to Create Blogger Sitemap and Submit to Google Webmaster 2019
If you’ve just started your blogging career, you might not know how search engines work. And how to display your website in the first page Google search results to drive more traffic to your blog. In this article we learn how to create blogger sitemap and submit to Google Webmaster.
You can show your website in Google search result for free if you can help Google to find your blog. To do that, you should know about Google Search Console (known as Google Webmaster Tools). Search Console is a free tool offered by Google Inc which helps you to display your website in Google search results.
First of all, you’ve to verify in Google Search Console that you’re the owner of the website. And, the second and most important task is to submit your blog/website sitemap to Google search console.
lets start the tutorial. Before we submit our sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools, we must know about sitemap first.
What is a Sitemap?
A sitemap is an .XML file which contains the list of all pages, posts and categories in your blog. Sitemap improves blog’s crawling rate and it also helps search engines to index your blog pages.
When Google crawlers go around the web indexing new web pages in its database. New blogs are usually missed out as only a few or no sites are linking to them as well as they’re not aware of sitemap thing.
As the word sounds, a sitemap is actually a map of your website or blog.

While HTML sitemap helps your visitors to navigate through your blog, an XML sitemap helps the search engine crawlers the same way. When you submit an XML sitemap to Google Webmasters. It helps search engine crawlers to find all the URLs on your website and add it to their database.
However, the Blogger’s default sitemap contains only 26 recent posts of your blog. You can check your Blogger sitemap here.
Replace your blog name in the above URL. So, here we are going to see all the steps to blogger sitemap submit to google (which contains all your blog URL) to Google Search Console and Yahoo, Bing Webmaster Tools.
Now, that you know about sitemap and its importance, let’s move on to the further steps.
How to Submit Blogger Sitemap to Google.
This article is divided into 2 parts.
Part 1. Submit Sitemap for Blog Posts.
Step 1: Sign in to your Google Webmasters Account.
If you don’t have any account create new one with your Google account.
- Select your blog you wish to submit the sitemap for.
- SteAt the left side of the page, click on Sitemaps under Crawl section.
- Now, at the top-right corner of the page, click on Sitemap button.
This is the sitemap code for your blogger blog that you need to add.
- Press “Submit” button.
- Refresh the your page.
That’s it. You’ve successfully submitted the sitemap to the Google Search Console. Remember the above sitemap will work for 500 blog posts.
If your blogger blog has more than 500 articles, then you need to submit one more sitemap with the same code. I give you above.
Part 2. Submitting Sitemap for Static Pages.
The sitemap for blogger static pages is completely different from the blog posts site map.If you want Google bots to crawl and index your static pages as well, then you must submit a sitemap for them as well.
- Go To Google Search Console (aka as Google webmaster tools) and sign-in with your Google account.
- Choose your blog from the list provided.
- Choose index > Sitemaps from the left sidebar menu
- Click SITEMAP button towards yours top-right side.
- Insert sitemap-pages.xml inside the text field.
- Hit “Submit” button and you are all done!
